A weekend of travel is over

Last weekend was disastrous for my body, in the way that I was continuously travelling. But mentally it did not affect me because I am still thrilled to travel.

All the travel plan started with a small vacation for me on 5th and 6th of February and thereafter a Saturday and a Sunday. The vacation days counted to four days, but I was not in any single place for more than a day and a half.

My parents, who were in Bangalore for a personal visit also accompanied me on Wednesday night start journey. I travelled to my native Palakkad on that journey. Therafter a small two hours of sleep and I was ready for travelling to Guruvayoor for attending a wedding function of my best friend Ajith. Vehicle were arranged from his home to Guruvayoor, and while travelling I boarded the White Hyundai Accent car with Ajith his relative Ranjith and his best friend Gopakumar.

In Guruvayoor once the marriage was over, I was back in a bus arranged for the purpose of carrying Ajith's relatives and friends. Reaching back to Palakkad I had some time to water the vast backyard of my house. Usually my dad and mom does this job routinely each day. Thank god that I could help for a day atleast. Moreover I really enjoy the natural lease of life which is hard to get in a city where I work.

The first day ended thus. Started next day and there were not much to do for me other than to carry my new DSLR camera wherever I thought feasible. I clicked and clicked lots of pictures of flowers, insects, and lot. With the day getting near end I had to visit the wedding reception of Ajith. There I met up with Ramakrishnan, Krishnakumar who could not attend up the wedding.

Thus the second day ended. The third day was promising me lots of boring moments as I have to travel to Chennai. I hate travelling in day trains as I could not stand back lazy moments when I am awake. Till afternoon I managed to pass time by either sleeping, listening to music etc. But as the day got hotter I could not do anything but to sit idly and wait for the train's arrival at Chennai. And there I was at Chennai in the evening, and thereafter headed towards Koyambedu Bus Terminus to catch bus to Cheyyar (Kanchipuram) where my friend Nagamaiya Karthik's (ex-colleague at iflex) wedding is scheduled to take place on Sunday 8th February.

But there myself accompanied with Krishnakumar Nagarajan (ex-colleague at iflex and with whom I travelled to South Africa) had to wait for Gowthaman Ganeshan (another ex-colleague at iflex). By the time Gowthaman turned up it was so late that the day had started to fade. We reached Cheyyar in the night and took some photos at the reception and had dinner. We three then adjusted in a small hotel-room where the accomodation was done for us. Sleep was evident at this time for me after a long tireful travelling day.

Thus ended the third day. Fourth day started with us cleaning up and getting ready for attending the wedding. It was rejuvanating experience for me to meet up almost all ex-colleagues from iflex. I did not expect to see Nirmal and Singaravelan at the wedding. There were lots of new faces too from the team where I worked two years back. Smalltalks clouded around us, and the time passed and we started our return trip to Chennai.

On the way we stopped our cars (four of them) and visited our former primeminister Rajiv Gandhi's memorial (where he was killed in a bomb explosion in mid 1991). I headed with Krishnakumar to his house where I was treated by him and his mom like a brother and a son respectively. I really am indebted for the love and affection I was bestowed upon with.

I then boarded a suburban train to Chennai Central and was there in the return train to Bangalore, thus ending my short but sweet vacation. Thus ends this travellougue.
